SITKA’s Dallas Store Debuts New Optifade Cover System
The Latest SITKA Pattern Drew In Hunters From All Over DFW
SITKA introduced their new Optifade Cover System and if you live in the Dallas area you probably had some quality venison tacos while you waited in line. The doors to SITKA in Dallas remained closed until 6 PM with street tacos at the ready for the anxious hunters looking to get their hands on the new Optifade Cover pattern. The first 50 people were awarded a bag filled with SITKA merchandise. Inside the bag of goodies included a hat with the new Optifade Cover pattern. A full belly, some useful merchandise and a slick new hat (which I now need to get a shirt to match) wasn’t just marketing brilliance, it was Dallas SITKA showing their genuine excitement to introduce this new line to the public.
I won’t beat around the bush, the tacos were amazing and the hat was a nice touch, but what turned the whole evening into a spectacle wasn’t the new wall full of Optifade Cover gear, it was Wade Shoemaker. He was SITKA’s guest speaker for the evening and provided a breakdown of the pattern that was down to earth, entertaining, and informative with plenty of laughs and “Aha!” moments about the new Cover line.
Mr. Shoemaker mentioned a couple of things that stuck out during the speech. “No matter how good you are or what your profession is, we are part-time hunters and animals are full-time animals”. It was a way of expressing the need to be at your absolute best when you are in the woods. So why wouldn’t you want a pattern that matches the surroundings perfectly? He was very stern on the fact that this pattern was not just designed to stand above the rest but to provide hunters with greener patterns during the early season and for hunters living in the southeastern states.
Wade went on to provide the science behind the pattern and even informed us of SITKA’s main problem they ran into. SITKA realized photographing the pattern in action was bad marketing because you couldn’t see the hunter in the photographs. Spoiler alert: we tried this too and it does make the user disappear which leaves the audience wondering what you took a picture of.
SITKA was nice enough to provide us with the new Optifade Cover pattern to review, but reflecting back on the event, it was five stars across the board. Great people, tons of support, amazing food, and a new line worthy of recognition. The crowd bought into Wade Shoemaker’s speech and the hospitality of the team was off the charts. If you haven’t been to the SITKA store in Dallas, go meet the team and try the new Cover pattern. Unfortunately, you missed the tacos!
